The Fort McMurray Catholic School Division (FMCSD) is looking into claims that an inappropriate personal item was brought into Father Mercredi High School.
There were posts on social media making these claims, which led to the investigation.
“Recently, we became aware of the presence of inappropriate personal items that were brought into our school and allegedly stored improperly,” says Lisa Miller, principal of Father Mercredi, in a release to the parents of children at the school.
“This matter is being taken very seriously and has been reported to the appropriate authorities including the School Division who are now leading the investigation.”
FMCSD can not say much, including what the inappropriate item was, as the investigation is ongoing.
Miller says she is hoping for patience and understanding from parents as they work through the investigation.
