United Way Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo is announcing a new Executive Director.
Cathy Steeves will take charge of the organization beginning February 1, 2021.
“The board is very excited to welcome Cathy to the United Way team,” said Jordanna Lambert, Board President.
“Cathy brings a wealth of knowledge from both her professional experience and volunteer achievements. We are confident that United Way will be well-positioned under her leadership to prosper in the coming years.”
A long-time Fort McMurray resident and volunteer advocate, Steeves already serves as the workplace campaign chair and sits on the community investment team for the United Way.
“I am thankful to the board for their confidence in me, and am elated to lead such a wonderful organization,” she added.
“United Way continues to respond to changing demands in our community and I know that we can move forward to strengthen our support of programs and initiatives that improve the quality of life for seniors, youth, children, families, and disadvantaged citizens.”
The United Way funds over 40 programs within the RMWB.
