Fort McMurray is seeing a drop in active COVID-19 cases.
The province announced on Wednesday 1,123 new cases across the province.
This raises the provincial total to 107,501 with 13,450 currently active. There are also 911 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 141 of which are in ICUs.
Locally, Fort McMurray added eight new cases and 27 additional recoveries which lowers the active total to 249.
The rural areas and Wood Buffalo National Park didn’t see any new changes which keeps the total of active cases at seven and two respectively.
In total, 1,321 individuals across the RMWB – 1,200 in Fort McMurray, 116 in the rural areas, and five in Wood Buffalo National Park – have recovered.
They are among the 92,858 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 86 per cent of reported cases.
There were also 25 new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 1,193.
To date, three individuals in Fort McMurray have died as a result of the virus.
