Fort McMurray is seeing an equal amount of new COVID-19 cases and recoveries over the past 24 hours.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Wednesday 732 new cases across the province.
This raises the provincial total to 41,692 with 10,057 cases currently active.
Locally, the community saw seven new cases and seven recoveries which keeps the active total at 132.
The rural areas didn’t see any new changes over the past day with the total of active cases remaining at 10.
In total, 475 individuals across the RMWB – 404 in Fort McMurray and 71 in the rural areas – have recovered.
They are among the 31,192 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents just under 75 per cent of reported cases.
Meanwhile, there were also 11 new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 443.
To date, two individuals in Fort McMurray have died as a result of the virus.
