Two more people have contracted COVID-19 in Wood Buffalo.
The province announced on Tuesday 47 new cases in Alberta – putting the total at 8,436.
Both of the cases were in the rural areas raising the active total to 21.
The province has not specified where these cases are, however, every one is linked to known sources.
Fort McMurray didn’t see any new cases over the past 24 hours, however, there were five more recoveries. This lowers the active total to 12 in the community.
Across the RMWB, 58 individuals – 43 in Fort McMurray and 15 in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.
They are among the 7,659 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents just under 91 per cent of the reported cases.
Meanwhile, two more people have died from COVID-19 in the province over the past day – raising the death toll at 157.
None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
