Five more people have contracted COVID-19 in Wood Buffalo.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Tuesday 41 new cases across the province – raising the total to 8,108.
Two of the new cases were in Fort McMurray, putting the active total at 20.
One of these cases was a senior resident at the Rotary House Seniors Lodge, however, all other residents and staff have tested negative.
The other three cases were in the rural areas. There was also an additional recovery which puts the active total at eight.
Across the RMWB, 45 individuals – 31 in Fort McMurray and 14 in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.
They are among the 7,405 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 91 per cent of the reported cases.
Meanwhile, there were no new deaths from COVID-19 in the province over the past 24-hours – keeping the death toll at 154.
None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
