Nearly 300 COVID-19 Complaints Made Across RMWB

Many complaints have been made in the RMWB for people failing to follow COVID-19 measures.

The municipality says they’ve responded to 278 complaints over the past four months.

Two hundred of these incidents ended with verbal warnings and education about the public health orders and municipal restrictions.

Four cases were forwarded to other agencies such as the RCMP and Public Health.

The remaining 74 cases were deemed unfounded, gone on arrival, or logged as information-only.

The RMWB is reminding residents some restrictions are still in place even though spaces are starting to reopen as part of the province’s plan to relaunch the economy.

This includes staying two metres away from others, no gatherings of 50 people or more, and having to self-isolate if you’ve traveled outside of the country.

Bylaw Officers will continue on their regular routes and respond to complaints as they come in.
