Registration Open For Summer School, Majority of Course Being Held Online

Registration is now open for summer school.

The Fort McMurray Public School Division is hosting this year for the FMPSD and Fort McMurray Catholic School District, with all classes being held online.

However, tests, exams, and essays will take place at École McTavish.

Administrators have created writing schedules for each class to make sure they continue to follow all COVID-19 guidelines.

“Although this year’s Summer School will look different from previous editions, the present circumstances add even greater importance to our classes,” said Daniel Baseley, Summer School Principal.

Students entering Grade 10 in 2020-21 can also apply. Over 400 students are expected to sign up with a one course limit being put in.

Classes will be held Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with students getting a 30 minute lunch break.

It will take place between July 3 to 28.

“A number of experienced summer school teachers will likely be returning, and I know their expertise will be greatly appreciated by everyone,” added, Baseley. “July will be extremely busy, and it always seems to pass by in an instant.”

Diploma exams will be written from August 4 to 13.
