Three more people in Fort McMurray have contracted COVID-19.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Tuesday 187 new cases across the province – raising the total to 3,095.
There are now seven active cases in Fort McMurray.
Four others in the community and two in the rural area have already recovered from the virus.
Across the province, 1,273 individuals no longer have the virus.
Meanwhile, the province says two more individuals have passed away – putting the death toll at 61.
One of the individuals was at a continuing care facility in High Prairie.
Kearl Lake Outbreak
Additional measures are being taken to stop the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak at Imperial Oil’s Kearl Lake north of Fort McMurray.
The number of cases linked to the oilsands is now at 23.
Those who were at Kearl Lake prior to April 16 must self-isolate for 14 days from when they left the site.
