A 19-year-old Fort McMurray man is facing a number of drug-related charges after having 911 called on him.

Wood Buffalo RCMP received a complaint call around 10:30 p.m. on November 25 at a residence near Leitner Gate and Lougheed Drive in the Eagle Ridge area.

Once they arrived, they found a ‘significant amount’ of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

After getting a search warrant, the Mounties seized more than 57 grams of suspected cocaine, 250 ml of suspected liquid GHB, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, Abdelqader Ibrahim Kanash was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to comply with a condition of a recognizance.

He’s scheduled to make his next court appearance on December 11 in Fort McMurray.
