The Northern Lights Health Foundation is getting a $70,000 boost to help fund a pair of its prestigious events.
On Wednesday, the Foundation was at the downtown ATB financial, where it was announced they have reached a two-year volunteer sponsorship agreement with the financial institution.
The agreement allows ATB to be the exclusive volunteer sponsor of the upcoming Festival of Trees and the Spring Fling gala in 2019.
Managing Director at ATB Bryan Rabik says it’s a privilege to support the foundation through this avenue.
“Volunteerism is something ATB team members embrace wholeheartedly. We know it’s a wonderful way to create happiness for our customers and our community, so the opportunity to sponsor the Festival of Trees and Spring Fling volunteers is very rewarding.”
The Festival has grown exponentially in years passed and now encompasses four ticketed events and a host of kids’ activities – while the Spring Fling annually sees around 600 people in attendance.
Health Foundation Executive Director Cindy Amerongen says they would not be able to pull off such events so easily without the help of volunteers.
“At Festival of Trees, we count on volunteers to set up trees, create silent auction displays, and set up and run the gift shop. They nurse stuffed animals at the Teddy Bear Hospital and help children decorate stocking and cookies. They run raffles and are spotters at the auction and move and pack auction items,” Amerongen said. “Every part of the three-day Festival of Trees event needs volunteers and thousands of community members will come through the festival doors to see the extravagant décor and feel the magic of the season.”
The Health Foundation says both events are vital to its annual fundraising efforts.
The Festival of Trees runs from November 16-18, while the Spring Fling is set for March 16, 2019.
