Man Arrested For Allegedly Firing Crossbow At Resident

No one was injured after a man allegedly broke into a Waterways home and shot at a resident with a crossbow.

Wood Buffalo RCMP say on October 21 around 6:30 p.m. they responded to a call about someone going through a homeowners yard near Huggard Street and Hugues Avenue.

An early investigation shows the suspect entered a nearby home, stole a crossbow and fired it at someone. It’s also believed the man used a stolen vehicle, which caught fire, during this incident.

No one was injured in the incident.

As a result, 23-year-old Alstair James Janvier was arrested and faces a number of charges including, assault with a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime, breaking and entering, possession of a controlled substance, and mischief.

He’s scheduled to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom on November 7.
