A new movie theatre is set to open in Fort McMurray.
Landmark Cinemas’ new ‘luxury recliner seating movie-going experience’ will be opening its doors on November 9 in Eagle Ridge.
“We are incredibly excited to introduce the recliner movie-going experience to the residents of Fort McMurray as it truly changes how people enjoy their night out at the movies,” said Bill Walker, CEO of Landmark Cinemas, in a release.
The theatre will be an upgrade from the current downtown location which was purchased by Landmark 11-years ago. It will include eight theatres, reclining seats, footrests, and ample space.
Tickets will be on sale on Thursday – being purchased at Landmark Cinemas’ website or on their app.
Meanwhile, it will also be the first business to open at ‘The Commons’ – one of two major developments planned for uptown.
“This opening is an important milestone in realizing our vision of providing residents of Fort McMurray, and the surrounding regions, with over 250,000 square feet of retail amenities including restaurants, retail outlets and services,” added Cole Harris, President and COO of Centron and owner of ‘The Commons.’
The area will also include full services restaurants, fast food restaurants, miscellaneous retail stores, coffee shops, and even medical services.
The rest of ‘The Commons’ is expected to open in the coming months.
