Vista Ridge is a victim of some recent vandalism.
Staff arrived to work on Thursday to find that a port-a-potty and some culvert sections were damaged after they had left the night before.
General Manager Kevin Grogan tells Mix News they believe someone started a D6 dozer, which was being used to help create their golf course, and demolished the items.
He says he doesn’t understand why anyone would do this.
“We’ve gone out of our way to make access around the site for the off-road traffic, so it’s disappointing that people would do that.”
Grogan notes the area where the dozer was parked was fenced off.
Moving forward, they plan on putting up a sign to remind people to stay out of the area.
Despite the damage, Grogan says he’s thankful it wasn’t worse.
“There’s satellite stations out there and there’s stuff that would have cost many thousands of dollars and set us back a long way.”
Vista Ridge hasn’t contacted Wood Buffalo RCMP as they don’t believe police need to get involved. Grogan adds they’re just hoping some public awareness will stop any future vandalism.
