An investigation is being done to find out the cause of a produced water spill at a Nexen site south of Fort McMurray.

Around 200,000 litres were released at the company’s Long lake Facility – around eight km southeast of Anzac.

The Alberta Energy Regulator says there was no impact on any waterbody or wildlife.

So far, the pipeline has also been isolated and depressurized.

A cleanup of the site is currently underway.
