The RMWB is receiving more than $6.3 million for local infrastructure projects.
The government of Canada has given Alberta the first of two installments of the Gas Tax Fund, which provides over 350 communities in the province $229.5 million in 2018-19 fiscal year.
There are 18 project categories eligible for funding under the program – ranging from roads and water systems to recreation.
“Our government is committed to working with all levels of government to support the local projects that keep Alberta’s communities strong and vibrant. From clean water, to safe roads, and beautiful parks where you can go to unwind and stay active, we are dedicated to investing in what matters to Albertans,” said Minister of Municipal Affairs Shaye Anderson in a release.
At $6,324,684, the RMWB will get the third highest amount of funding in Alberta, behind Calgary and Edmonton.
