Around $50,000 is going to Waypoints thanks to the ATCO Fort McMurray Food Festival.
Seven events over five days had people across the RMWB last week enjoy fun activities, eat great food, grab a cold drink, and help a great cause.
“This truly is a win-win for all,” says Cliff Dimm, Waypoints Board Chair, in a release.
“This is an amazing event for our community, bringing attention to our excellent food and beverage industry and also our local entertainers and as an awesome added bonus, provides much-needed funds for us at Waypoints to sustain our ever growing and needed programs and services.”
Last year’s event, which didn’t have as many events, raised around $33,000.
The festival included events such as Food Truck Showcase which closed off a section of Franklin Avenue for the first time in 10 years. Residents also enjoyed the Summer Community BBQ and the #WELOVEYMM Largest Patio Party Ever which had roughly 1,400 people attend.
“We’re pleased to support events that not only enrich the quality of life of our service communities but also enhance its spirit and strength,” added Rebecca White, Manager, Gas Distribution for ATCO.
Next year’s event is scheduled to take place between July 24-29.
