Two people have been arrested and multiple driving suspensions were handed out during a series of checkstops earlier this month.
On the evening of July 13, the Integrated Traffic Unit set up checkstops on highway 63 and 881 in an effort to identify and stop impaired driving.
Over the course of the night, seven roadside driving suspensions were issued.
A 56-year-old Edmonton woman was also arrested and charged after officers found 56 grams of cocaine in her vehicle.
Police discovered crack cocaine in another vehicle resulting in the arrest of a 37-year-old Fort McMurray woman. She was also charged with driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle.
All the vehicle’s involved were impounded for a varying amount of time.
