Edmonton Pair Face Drug and Identity Fraud Charges

Two people from Edmonton are facing a number of charges after Wood Buffalo RCMP conducted a search a warrant in downtown Fort McMurray.

Around 6 p.m. on July 13, police were patrolling Franklin Ave and Haineault Street when they spotted a woman who was believed to have outstanding warrants.

After confirming her identity, officers arrested the 39-year-old woman.

During the arrest, police also found suspected cocaine, drug paraphilia, stolen drivers licenses and Social Insurance Number cards.

A 32-year-old man was also arrested.

Tara Lee Arthurs now faces the following charges;

  • Possession of stolen property x 2, Section 355(b) C.C.C.
  • Possession of a controlled substance, Sec 4(1) C.D.S.A.
  • Unlawfully possess an identity document belonging to another person x 3, Section 56.1 C.C.C.
  • The outstanding warrants included uttering forged documents, and fraud x 2.

While Jayden Justin McInroy has been arrested for;

  • Possession of stolen property x 3, Section 355(b) C.C.C.
  • Possession of a controlled substance, Sec 4(1) C.D.S.A.
  • Fraudulently personate another individual, Section 403(1)(a) C.C.C.
  • Identity fraud, Section 402.2(1) C.C.C.
  • Utter a forged document, Section 368(1)(a) C.C.C.
  • Demand goods using a forged document, Section 375 C.C.C.
  • Unlawfully possess an identity document belonging to another person x 4, Section 56.1 C.C.C.
  • Breach of recognizance entered into before a Justice x 4, Section 145(3) C.C.C.

The pair are expected to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom next week and in August.
