A longtime Fort McMurray business is shutting its doors.
Spruceland Lumber, which started operations in 1997, is closing down.
United Farmers of Alberta, who owns the business, announced the closure on Thursday.
“The strategic business decision was made only after numerous other options were explored for the business,” said Carol Kitchen, President and Chief Executive Officer.
“UFA remains focused on its core agriculture and petroleum businesses,” she added.
The UFA says 24 employees will lose their jobs on August 31.
