Hundreds of Fort McMurray students are getting ready for life after high school.
The Fort McMurray Catholic School District says 190 graduates from Holy Trinity Catholic High School crossed the stage back on June 8.
Around 200 more to cross the stage for Father Mercredi High School on June 29.
“Our ultimate goal is to not just complete high school but to move on to post-secondary, to pick a career pathway and become a responsible adult member of society,” said Superintendent George McGuigan.
He says should also send out a big thanks to the staff and teachers who helped them get to where they are.
“We’re quite pleased with the work of our staff in the schools, not just in our two high schools but the work of our elementary schools in getting those students prepared.”
In the Fort McMurray Public School District, Westwood Community High School leads the way with 227 grads.
Frank Spraggins has 55 grade 12 students crossing the stage.
Ceremonies for both schools are also on June 29, with Westwood’s at MacDonald Island Park in the morning and Frank Spraggins’ at Keyano Theatre in the afternoon.
The Fort McMurray Composite High School celebrated 89 students graduating back on May 26.
