The wildfire near Janvier is now being held.

This means that pending weather and other resources, the fire is not expected to grow past its current boundary.

The Alberta Emergency Alert has been canceled for the area as the RMWB says there is no imminent danger to the community.

The Regional Emergency Operations Centre is still monitoring the blaze as well as another one in the area.

Chief of Emergency Services Jody Butz says the REOC team is prepared to respond quickly should conditions change.

“REOC will remain at Level 1 until further notice as we continue to monitor wildfire activity in the region,” Butz said.

More updates will be provided when they become available.
