A fire ban is now in effect across the entire RMWB.
Regional Emergency Services issued the ban on Friday, coinciding with the one put forward by the province.
This means new and current fire permits are now suspended or cancelled, while backyard fire pits and random campfires are prohibited.
People can still use propane or natural gas barbecues and internal household fireplaces.
Anyone caught starting a fire of any kind will face a hefty fine under the Emergency Services Bylaw.
Meanwhile, there is also a restriction on off-highway-vehicles for the time being. OHV staging areas will be closed across Fort McMurray.
Both bans will be in effect until the warm conditions improve.
