The RMWB is bringing back its annual heavy item pickup program.
If you have large, bulky items you want to get rid of, such as couches, washer or dryers, you can register until next Monday to have someone come and take them away.
Items that can be picked up include sofas, chairs, mattresses, box springs, dressers, stoves, dishwashers, washers and dryers, televisions that are 24-inch tube or 27 inches or larger and refrigerators.
This program will be available for all standing and rebuilt homes in areas where construction is underway and only residential items will be available for pick up.
The RMWB says they will not accept construction-related materials.
In addition, disposal fees will be required for certain items, such as $42.90 for refrigerant gas removal and mattresses and box springs will also be subject to a $20 fee.
Refrigerant gas is considered hazardous waste and must be contained so that it does not lead to the destruction of our ozone layer.
Anything you plan to dispose of must be at the roadside by 8 a.m. on your assigned pick up day.
Registration for the programs closes on May 28 at 8 a.m. and spaces are limited
Pickup dates will be scheduled between June 4-8.
