What's Open, What's Closed on Victoria Day

The May Long Weekend is fast approaching, which means many city services and businesses are changing their operating hours throughout the RMWB.

Peter Pond Mall will be open from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Keyano College Sports & Wellness Centre will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The Suncor Community Leisure Centre at MacDonald Island Park will be operating on holiday hours on Monday. It will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 10: 00 p.m. All other holiday hours for the Park can be found here.

The Fort McMurray Boys and Girls Club will be closed on Victoria Day – reopening on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, with spring cleaning on the minds of many residents, the municipality is waving all landfill fees over the weekend. This will only include home waste and not construction, demolition or renovation materials.

As for Transit Services, only routes 11 (Airport), 15 (Timberlea Express), 16 (Thickwood Express), and Route 99 (MacDonald Island) will be running. These three routes will be operating on their Sunday schedules. Regular service will resume on Tuesday.

Also, despite there not being any specific events for Victoria Day, people can still head out to Gregoire Lake Provincial Park which officially opened on Thursday.
