The search continues for a 27-year-old man – missing now for a month.

Wyatt Marten was last seen on March 12th in the Timberlea area.

He’s described as Aboriginal, 6’2″, 350 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last wearing a black jacket, possibly brown toned pants, and size 11 or 12 shoes without socks.

His mother Cindy tells Mix News they’ve started to expand their search outside of Fort McMurray.

She says they’re still in contact with RCMP who’ve also started to look outside of the community.

“They’ve checked his bank account, so far there’s been no records – at my request, I’ve asked them to check the shelters in Edmonton.”

Wood Buffalo RCMP Corporal Teri-Ann Deobald says they are continuing to investigate leads when they are received, however nothing of late has been reported.

Multiple Alberta shelters have also been contacted by volunteers with the family’s search party, with no luck.

‘I think he’s scared or paranoid and he’s hiding out somewhere,” added Cindy.

Cindy says she feels it’s more likely he’s left town and is hiding in a different community but still can’t explain why.

“We love you and we just want you to come home, whatever you think you’re running from – we’re here to help you,” she added.

Anyone who sees Wyatt is being encouraged to avoid him and contact police immediately.
