The Northern Lights Health Foundation’s 31st annual Spring Fling gala brought in roughly $195, 000 to improve health care in the region.

On Saturday, over 500 people packed into Shell Place for the Kentucky Derby-themed event.

Through live and silent auctions and other pledges, thousands of dollars was raised.

Acden also surprised the crowd with a $250,000 donation to the Gratitude Campaign’s Minimally Invasive Surgical Suites project, the largest component of the Campaign.

“The advanced MIS suites will be designed to create an optimal operating environment for the surgeon, staff and most importantly, the patient. The renovation and upgrade of four operating rooms will bring them into state-of-the-art operating theatres that attract progressive surgeons and provide improved patient outcomes,” said NLHF Executive Director, Cindy Amerongen.

Two years after the Campaign launch at the 2016 Spring Fling, $12.25 million of the $16 million goal has been raised.
