If you’re interested in getting some local art, all you need to do is volunteer some of your time.
Arts Council Wood Buffalo is bringing back their ‘Wood Buffalo Timeraiser’ for the seventh year where local art is auctioned off while supporting local social profits.
Instead of biding money on the art, people will bid volunteer hours to a different organization, having 12 months to complete their hours.
Last year, multiple people offered around 3,165 hours for 53 different pieces of art. The art that was purchased, from the local artists for the event, was also translated into approximately $21,000 in support for the Wood Buffalo art community.
Meanwhile, after a successful first-year, the ACWB is bringing back their budding artists category – looking for people aged 12-17 to submit two pieces of their work. These young artists will get the chance to gain exposure and experience as they enter into the art world.
Right now, the ACWB is sending a call out to all artists interested in having their art a part of the event.
