Keyano’s President and CEO is resigning.
Dr. Tracy Edwards handed in her resignation to the college’s Board of Governors on Thursday.
In a statement sent to Mix News, the college notes the reason for her departure is due to a family medical matter.
She has been with Keyano since February 2016, serving as Interim President. The college announced Edwards as their permanent President and CEO just a few months later in August.
Edwards replaced the outgoing Kevin Nagel.
Before her job with Keyano, she served as President and CEO of Lethbridge College, from 2005 – 2012, holding the same position at Lakeland College before that.
“It saddens me that I have to leave at this juncture, but I have great faith in the strength and resilience of our faculty and staff,” said Edwards.
Her last day with the college will be March 6, 2018.
Keyano’s current Vice-President, Academic, Dr. Brenda Sautner will be appointed Interim President and CEO.
Sautner started working at the college back in June – recently serving as the Associate Superintendent for the Fort McMurray Public School District for seven years.
