The highlight of my day today was watching the new Infinity War Trailer. I don’t know if I’ve ever been more hyped for a movie. Before we get to the list, check out the trailer!
1. The Iron Spider
Fans of Spiderman Homecoming will notice that Spiderman’s new suit in Infinity War will be the same Iron Spider suit that Tony Stark was going to give him at the end of Spiderman Homecoming to symbolize that he had become a full-fledged Avenger. This shows me that Spiderman has officially joined the team and that we are going to get some neat new suit abilities in the upcoming movie.
2. Bruce Banner Is Human Again
In Thor Ragnarok Bruce Banner says that he’s afraid if he turns back into the Hulk he won’t be able to turn back but proceeds to transform later anyway during the final battle. We never see him turn back in the movie but we do see a human Bruce Banner in the trailer.
A lesser-known fact is that when we see the Hulk Buster landing in Wakanda if a recent LEGO set is to be believed it’s actually Bruce Banner inside the Hulk Buster suit. Does this mean that Bruce is no longer able to turn into the Hulk for at least the beginning of Infinity War?
3. Spider Senses!
One of the fan complaints from Spiderman Homecoming was that we didn’t get to see his spider senses, an ability that has been a hallmark of his ever since his very first issue. We see it in the infinity war trailer as hair standing up on his arms when Thanos’ portal is floating above New York.
4. Tony Has A Reactor In His Chest
A huge plot point at the end of Iron Man 3 was that Tony had the shrapnel near his heart removed and no longer needed an Arc Reactor to keep him alive. In the Infinity War trailer, we see that the reactor is back in place. What does this mean? Is Tony injured again? Or is it something else entirely?
5. Loki Did Steal The Tesseract
The Tesseract contains the space infinity stone which Thanos requires for his plans. It has been sitting in Odin’s vault for several movies but was last seen briefly in Thor Ragnarok where we see Loki considering taking it. Until now we had no way of knowing if he took it with him. We see Loki stepping over the bodies of what seem to be Asgardian warriors and handing the Tesseract to someone but we have no way of knowing if it is Thanos.
We later see Thanos putting the space stone into his gauntlet before attacking Iron Man but we can’t know how much time is between those two scenes.
Is there anything I missed? Any theories you have about the movie? Let me know in the comments!
