A 33-year-old man is in hospital in a coma after being assaulted at a home in Fort McKay.
Wood Buffalo RCMP was called to the community on November 2 around 10:45 p.m., after receiving a call about someone uttering threats.
When officers arrived they found the victim with extensive injuries along with a 37-year-old woman, who didn’t report any injuries.
The Mounties have arrested 38-year-old Percy Whitford – charging him with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offense, uttering threats against a person, and failing to comply with a probation order.
He remains in custody and is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Fort McMurray on November 20.
Police are still looking for Lenny Whitford who they believe played a part in the incident.
He is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offense, and uttering threats against a person.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts or the incident is asked to call RCMP or crime stoppers.
