New Video Game Controversies

There are 4 major video game titles dropping this week. And each has it’s own controversy attached. Because of course they do.

I didn’t think I’d see the day that opposing NAZI’s would be seen as a “liberal agenda” or “attack on Trump supporters” or “a bad thing” in the tiniest way. But look no further than the people brazen enough to use phrases like white genocide. They have a real problem with the new Wolfenstein II: The New Collossus (out on Friday). Not with the insane levels of violence and salty language, but the fact that all that violence and language is against NAZI’s and KKKlansmen. Genius marketing from Bethesda, however. They are going to make a mint selling this game. Here’s the trailer, which you need to prove your age to even watch.

The other game-related controversies are much more tame in comparison. Destiny 2 releases today, and fans are upset about DLC and unfair advantages just starting the game. The horrors. Assasin’s Creed: Origins releases Friday, and people are taking issue with the fantastical depictions of ancient Egypt. Because we were all there. And with Super Mario Oddyssey¬†(also out Friday)? Well people just cannot handle seeing Mario’s nipples when he’s in beach mode. How will we live on?
