The municipal election saw a little bit of history as more people voted across the region than ever before.

The RMWB says 13,214 people cast a ballot on Election Day, which represents roughly 22 per cent of eligible voters.

The results of the election were also declared official on Friday meaning Don Scott will be the next mayor of the RMWB.

Scott and each councillor will be sworn during a ceremony Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Shell Place Ballroom.

The swearing-in ceremony and the annual organization meeting will be streamed live at rmwb.ca.
