Habitat for Humanity Wood Buffalo is about to start their first rebuild project.

The new home will be located on Beaveridge Close in Beacon Hill. This a part of the 150 Builds to celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday.

This is the second project HFHWB has taken on since the wildfire, the first being a home in Waterways for a single mother and her four kids.

Executive Director Crystal Lewis-Wilton notes they’re expecting to help rebuild between eight and ten homes, just in 2017. Back in April, she told Mix News two projects would be starting around the same time in Beacon Hill.

“For one of them, it’s a two-parent family and they’ve got two young kids and for the other property it’s two adults, their children are grown up but they have grandchildren.”

The team will officially break ground on the project this Sunday. The actual work will be starting in the week of July 17th.
