I’ve been going through a phase where I’ve been binging all the comedy I can. Here are some of my faves.
1. Hannibal Buress: Animal Furnace.
He tackles having his credit card stolen, the worst interview he had ever done and the time he got Megan Fox to perform the worst SNL skit he had ever written. I rate this one 7/10.
2. Marc Maron: Thinky Pain
This comic is a little different from the usual and derives a majority of his humour from his hardships. He talks about the drug abuse, living with his girlfriend and about who he is as a person. I rate this one 7/10.
3. Mike Birbiglia: My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend
The pacing of this special is very unique. It takes us on a journey through Mike’s life and tackles times where reason went ut the window. He tackles an idiot officer who gave him a ticket for being hit by a car, on again off again relationships and meeting his girlfriend’s boyfriend. I rate this one 8/10.
4. Aziz Ansari: Buried Alive
He takes an honest look at love and relationships in the modern era. Instead of rip[ping on how awful things are he looks at how incredible it is that people can find love by typing in “Jewish” and their zip code. I rate this one 9/10.
5. John Mulaney: New in Town
He talks about growing up with lawyers for parents, his relationship, quicksand and an Elderly man he once met in a washroom who told him one of the craziest things he had ever heard. Not to mention how being black out drunk can ruin parties. I rate this one 9.5/10.
