Thanks to the RMWB – hazardous tree removal will continue over the summer.
Over the spring, the program took place in Abasand, Beacon Hill, Thickwood, Wood Buffalo, and Waterways. This work helps improve community safety and promotes healthy regeneration of our forested areas.
Residents have identified areas with hazardous trees including Abasand, Waterways, Grayling Terrace, Wood Buffalo and Anzac. Forestry experts are making sure these trees are in fact dead before removing them.
The trees will be removed by hand where possible, and in most areas – no new mulch will be created during the removal.
Meanwhile, more than 76,000 seedlings were planted in areas where removal occurred and those efforts will continue in the future.
