Keyano College men’s and women’s soccer teams will have a new head coach for the 2017-18 season.

The Huskies signed Murad Sukru last Thursday.

Sukru has an extensive soccer career including playing professionally for a team in Turkey and the Netherlands, as well he played semi-professionally (Hamilton Thunder, Mississauga Olympians) and internationally for Canada. Sukru is also a two-time Atlantic University Champion and a two-time AUS all-star and team captain.

Since 2013, Sukru has served as the technical director for the One Touch Soccer Academy in Ontario, building programs for all categories for both males and females.

“I love soccer and I am interested in helping develop young players,” said Sukru in a release. “I see a huge amount of potential here. There are excellent facilities and a great organization and we can do great things with that.”

In addition to his coaching duties for the Huskies, Sukru will also be taking over as head technical director for the Fort McMurray Youth Soccer Association.
