New bigger bus stops could be built north of the bridge.

On Tuesday, the Land Planning and Transportation Committee will discuss two possible turn-outs on Confederation Way and Thickwood Boulevard.

The municipality is looking to build these stops which will include secure washroom facilities for operators, heated shelters for passengers, and room for five to seven buses to park.

The Thickwood stop would be next to the Casman Centre.

Originally, the idea was to build 28 heated shelters on the roads but it was thought it could cause safety and disturbance problems along the streets.

The project was approved in the 2017 Capital Budget but had received no funds. The province and Federal Government have since provided all the money, totaling $10 million.

The committee will discuss these changes along with the grant funds on Tuesday, May 16, at 4 p.m.
