Power has been restored to thousands of customers in Fort McMurray.
Manager of ATCO Electric District Operations Sandy Love tells Mix News power went out just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday and it was restored around 11:30 a.m.

At the height of the outage, 3200 customers in Gregoire, Beacon Hill and downtown were left in the dark.
Love says a failed piece of equipment caused the outage.
She adds now that power is fully restored, they’ll start an investigation into the failure.
