Fort McKay man charged after attacking two dogs

Wood Buffalo RCMP have arrested a Fort McKay man after he brutally assaulted two dogs.

Police responded to a report of a man attacking his neighbour’s dogs, while they were chained to the front porch of the owner’s residence early Sunday morning.

One of the dogs, an eight-month-old, required surgery and needed to have one of his eyes removed.

The other dog did not require urgent medical attention.

Police say they have arrested and charged the suspect with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and injuring animals.

He’ll appear in a Fort McMurray Courtroom on March 3rd.
