Wood Buffalo RCMP arrest 19-year-old for outstanding warrants

A 19-year-old Fort McMurray man has been arrested for outstanding warrants for trafficking cocaine, during a routine patrol of businesses with liquor licenses.

On Saturday around 12:30 a.m., members of the Wood Buffalo RCMP Strike Team were conducting searches when officers identified and arrested the teen.

Police say while he was being arrested, 15 grams of cocaine and cash was found on his person.

The suspect faces new charges of trafficking cocaine.

He will appear in a Fort McMurray court room on Tuesday for his new charges as well as his warrants.
