Police Looking for Witnesses after Vehicle Fled Traffic Stop

Police are arresting one man who fled a traffic stop.

On Sunday, around 2:45 a.m., RCMP noticed a vehicle parked in a fire lane, near the McDonald’s in the Stone Creek Plaza. The Mounties stopped the vehicle and while talking to the driver, the vehicle drove off.

The vehicle, a White Ford Flex, was found on Sandstone Lane after it crashed into a parked car.

Police say 36-year-old Christopher Trepanier was found later that afternoon. He’s since been arrested and charged with flight from a police officer.

He will make his first court appearance on February 6, 2017.

RCMP are asking for any witnesses to come forward. They say several individuals were present at the Stone Creek Plaza. If you have any information on this incident, contact police at 780-788-4000.
