Fort McMurray breaks 64-year-old weather record

We have a broken a 64-year-old weather record.

The previous warmest temperature on record for November 9th was 10 degrees set back in 1952.

As of 12:00p.m. Wednesday, it was 12 degrees at the airport, according to Environment Canada.

We almost broke a record on Tuesday. The forecasted high was 14 degrees, but we only reached 10.2 C, which is just over a degree off the record.

Meanwhile, we can expect above average temperatures all the way through the weekend, with Saturday’s record also in jeopardy. The forecast calls for 9 degrees that day. The record high is currently 8.9 degrees set in the 50s.

By the way, the coldest temperature on this day was -25.6°C set back in 1986.
