The RMWB and Transit Services are trying to stuff buses full of food.
It’s all for the first annual Stuff-a-Bus campaign in support of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank.
Local businesses, industries and schools are being asked to collect non-perishable food items, then a transit bus will pick-up all the donations on November 18th.
Director of Transit Services Robert Kirby tells Mix News they’ve also added a school competition.
He says the school with the most donations per-capita will win a free three-hour charter bus provided by Municipal Transit Services.
“So that can be a class trip within the Municipality. What the schools could be doing is competing amongst the classrooms to see who will get the charter.”
The deadline to register for the stuff-a-bus campaign in November 17th. You can sign-up at rmwb.ca/transit, or register by phone by calling Transit Call Centre at 780-743-7931 or the Pulse Call Line at 780-743-7000.
