Wood Buffalo RCMP investigating report of gunshots

Wood Buffalo RCMP are continuing an investigation into a report of multiple gunshots.

At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, RCMP were called to a apartment complex on Richard Street in Fort McMurray.

The investigation is still in the initial stages while they continue to talk with witnesses.

No injuries are being reported as police are seeking information on who is responsible for the shooting.

RCMP are also advising the public that this incident is not related to any other investigations currently being conducted by the detachment.

Earlier in the day, four people who arrested over threats made on Instagram about kidnapping students from Fort McMurray high schools.

Two other incidents also occurred with people calling the RCMP about someone with a gun around the Nomad Hotel and Provincial Building.

However, RCMP say there was no evidence anyone with a firearm was in the Provincial Building at any time, with police quickly leaving the scene.
