The municipality is looking for new creative design proposals from local artists.
10 large bus shelters in Fort McMurray have been selected to showcase the art of these local artists while adding to the region’s landscape and beauty.
This endeavor is part of the Communities in Bloom committee’s Bus Shelter Graphic Wrap Program which was created back in 2014.
The aim then was to increase local exposure of visual and public arts, while enhancing the beautification of urban streetscapes, and stop vandalism of public property.
This Canadian non-for-profit uses community involvement to focus on the enhancing of green spaces in communities, foster civic pride, improve environmental responsibility and beautification.
For anyone who is interested in the bus shelter design, the application deadline is Sept. 21 at 4 p.m
Each artist will also be awarded $500 for each of their chosen designs.
