Residents can apply for 5 grants aimed at the community

The municipality is accepting applications for 5 new grants.

These grants are for Community Beautification, Crime Prevention and Community Safety, Games Legacy, Joint Initiatives Funding and Wood Buffalo Big Spirit Funding.

The region is looking for non-profits and community groups to apply for the grants that range anywhere from $2,000 to $20,000.

The Community Beautification Grant: Can apply up to $5,000, as they look for projects that can help beautify the area in any way.

Crime Prevention Grant: Can apply up to $10,000, as they look for groups aimed at supporting community safety.

Games legacy Grant: Can apply between $2,000 to $3,000, trying to help raise participation in amateur sports and cultural activities by helping with finances for athletes and performers who might be training at levels like Provincial, National and International.

Joint Initiatives Funding: Can apply up to $20,000, to help raise the quality of life for residents in the region.

Wood Buffalo Big Spirit Funding: Can apply up to $10,000, to help grow artistic growth and excellence in sports while helping with economic development.
