Red Deer will have to find themselves a new airport CEO.
Their current top boss, R.J. Steenstra has been announced as Scott Clements’ successor as the President and CEO of the Fort McMurray International Airport.
Steenstra has served as the CEO for the Red Deer Regional Airport since 2011, also acting as the Vice Chair of the International Association of Airport Executives. According to the FMAA, he oversaw four years of revenue growth at the airport, attracting a national airline and implementing an airport development program.
He will be introduced in a media event on June 28 on the observation deck, and will officially take over the Fort McMurray Airport Authority on September 12, when Clements officially retires.
