Boil Water Advisory lifted for North Fort McMurray

AHS advises water users to run taps for 5 min each on cold and hot to flush any remaining bacteria// Chris Vandenbreekel - Harvard Broadcasting

Alberta Health Services has lifted the boil water advisory for communities north of the Athabasca River.

The lift includes Thickwood, Timberlea, Parsons Creek, Wood Buffalo, Dickinsfield, Eagle Ridge, and Stone Creek. The advisory was already lifted for Grayling Terrace on June 10 and the lower townsite on June 4.

Water users are advised to flush their taps by running them for five minutes each on hot and cold. Appliances with water lines should also be flushed. Instructions on how to do so can be found here.

The advisory is still in effect for all areas not listed above. Water is okay for general use, but should be brought to a full boil for at least one minute before being consumed. After showering or washing hands, hand sanitizer with at least 70% alcohol content should be used.
