Kendall Moholitny of Pro Bono Law Alberta says lawyers are standing by right now to speak with residents of Fort McMurray about a number of legal topics relevant to the fire and evacuation.
Moholitny says they’ve partnered with a number of other law-related organizations to provide free advice to those affected by recent events. She says they expect a full gamut of questions about tenancy and employment as well as family-law related queries.
She says residents from Fort McMurray are encouraged to call 1-888-644-8950 between now and 3:30 this afternoon.
There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but coming soon is a chance for residents of Fort McMurray to get some free legal advice.
A number of law related organizations are putting on the day of free legal advice on June 11 for people who need help in the areas of family, employment, insurance, immigration (temporary foreign workers), and landlord-tenant law.
Residents can call 1-888-644-8950 between 9:30 and 3:30 to speak to a volunteer lawyer for free.
